Are you in a happy relationship but living apart?

Living apart together (LAT) - could you sell your story? If you live apart from your partner, get in touch!

First Features is looking for women who are happily married or in serious relationships but have made a conscious decision to live separately from their partners.

Maybe you need your independence and would miss your own space if you lived with your man. Perhaps you think you’d tear each other to shreds if you were together 24/7. Maybe you just want to get away without doing any of his washing!

No matter what the reason is for your living apart, we want to hear about it.

You must be willing to be named and pictured with your partner.

We can pay £150 to successful applicants, so get in touch!

New Year, New Stories

Welcome back to the First Features blog! We hope you’ve had a great break over Christmas and New Year. We’re looking forward to another successful year of quality real-life stories and satisfied clients.

The festive season can be a difficult time for anyone – whether you’re dealing with the in-laws from Hell, remembering Christmasses past or simply fighting the temptation to have another glass of brandy.

You may have been through a difficult time this year, and Christmas gave you a chance to enjoy yourself again. Maybe 2010 means a new start, if you’ve battled ill health or got rid of a bad habit. Maybe you had an extraordinary New Year’s Eve and you want to share it with us.

We publish a wide range of stories, from crime to health, real-life to relationships and even pet stories. Our clients’ experiences have featured in newspapers and magazines in the UK and abroad. If you have a story to tell, call us on 020 7703 8000.

If you want to know more about the stories we publish, check the website at www.firstfeatures.co.uk. Happy New Year to all our readers and clients!

FF Sells 500th Story

We are happy to announce that First Features has now sold 500 real life stories to the national media since it started business in 2005.

This landmark is one we’ve worked incredibly hard to reach but we couldn’t have done it without the help of our clients who contact us with their amazing true life experiences. So thank you!

From crime and health stories to tales of loverats and pets, we’ve helped hundreds of people to see their true stories in print. For many it has been life-changing and we are proud to have been part of that experience.

First Features set out with the aim of helping the public to sell their true stories for the right price, to the right publication. Almost five years on, this is just what we have done.

National newspapers like The Sun, The Daily Mail and the Sunday Mirror as well as countless women’s magazines including Take A Break, NOW, Reveal, That’s Life! and Cosmopolitan have all bought stories from our clients, and continue to come to us when they are looking for something in particular.

We keep contact details of everyone we’ve worked with on file, and we often send out story requests from national publications via email. If you haven’t worked with us before but would like to join this mailing list, please email info@firstfeatures.co.uk

And if you have a specific story that you’d like to sell, give us a bell on 020 7703 8000.

Here’s to the next 500!

First Features’ Clients Go Global

Two of our fabulous clients, mum and daughter pair Tracey Pollard and Zara Hartshorn share their story for the fourth time in this month’s Sugar magazine.

Tracey and Zara came to us in August for help raising awareness of the shocking condition, lipodystrophy. They’ve both suffered since birth from the disease, which makes them look far older than they are. And they wanted to speak out about the effect it has on their lives.

Since working with First Features, the pair have appeared in Reveal, Woman’s Own and Sugar, and have even gone global, telling their story to Australian magazine, Woman’s Day!

“I can’t believe how much exposure we have had just from one phone call to First Features,” says Tracey. “We wanted to raise awareness and being in four national magazines has really helped. It’s been an amazing experience as well.”

First Features is now in talks with film production companies about making a TV documentary about Tracey and Zara.

“All the publicity has changed my life,” says Zara. “People at school understand why I look the way I do now and it’s much easier to talk about. I loved having the photo shoots, too!”

It’s been a big year for Tracey and Zara and we look forward to continuing our work with them in the future.

FF attends the Take a Break Xmas Bash

The First Features team enjoyed a couple of glasses of mulled wine with the Take a Break team this week at their Xmas bash.

It was a pleasure to see all the familiar faces of the top-selling mag and celebrate another great year of working together. First Features often sells stories to Take a Break and also their sister mag Take a Break Specials.

So we were delighted to be invited to their special Xmas party again and to raise a glass and toast the holiday season. Vicky Honour and Abby Taylor from Take a Break Specials made a special appearance at the bash just to see us – a real honour!

Take a Break editor John Dale made a speech thanking all the agencies and freelancers for their contributions this year and was pleased to announce another great year for his million-selling magazine.

We have a great relationship with all the women’s magazines and if you’re interested in seeing your story in one of these fantastic publications, email us at info@firstfeatures.co.uk
